Robert Alan Marks learned to Fly at Leicester East, Stoughton , Leicestershire.
He joined the RAFVR in 1939 and was commissioned and served in RAFVR from 1940.
During the Dieppe raid, Marks piloted a Douglas Boston Mk III, AL680 from No. 226 Squadron (together with K.A.T. Warwood en L.K. Brownson) which was shot down on August 19th, 1942. All three were made POW.
Robert Alan Marks served as RAF test pilot after WW2 and was killed flying a captured Heinkel He 162 at Farnborough in November 1945.
