"Throughout the action at HEDEL on 24 Apr 45, Cpl Jansen in the Medical Sec, carried out his duties in a fearless and gallant matter. Frequently during the two days he went out to his wounded comrades, dressed their wounds and brought them back under fire. His devotion to duty and complete disregard for his own personal safety saved considerable suffering and may well have saved many lives."
