"Attached No.11 (Hopkinson) Military Mission.
During the operations in Belgium and Northern France from 10th May to 1st June 1940, Captain Warre commanded the reconnaissance squadron of the Mission with marked success. He displayed at all times outstanding powers of leadership combined with a complete disregard of his own safety. He carried out several personal reconnaissances with valuable results. The information which the Mission obtained regarding the progress of the battle was secured largely through the initiative and leadership of this officer."
