"Squadron Leader Ryall has completed a large number of operational sorties, in the course of which he has displayed great courage and efficiency. He has shown an aptitude for anticipating all enemy methods of defence which has enabled him to attack his targets with great precision, while due to his excellent crew training he has been able to beat off several enemy night fighters before they had time to develop their attacks. As flight commander he has maintained a high degree of operational efficiency amongst the crews under his command."
