Awarded on:

Citation:
"After seeing service in Norway and France in November 1940, Sergeant HARRISON was sent on a special mission to Greece in which he was to maintain certain vital W/T communications. This he succeeded in under most trying and dangerous conditions until the evacuation of Greece. Assisted only by a junior N.C.O. (who was badly wounded and is now a P.O.W.) he remained continuous 24 hour watch dealing with traffic vital to the conduct of the campaign. During the evacuation he became separated from the H.Q. to which he was attached and showed great courage, initiative and determination in carrying on his work both in Greece and Crete, in the face of intense enemy action until forced to evacuate. Since that time he has been selected for a number of tasks all requiring the display of initiative, determination and skill of a very high order, and involving responsabilities normally delegated to commissioned officers. All these tasks he has carried out most successfully"
