Biography

Sergeant (Air Bomber) Edward Whitby Henry Browne, Son of John Corysland Johnson Browne and May Frances Gertrude Browne, of Greenford Park, Middlesex. He died on Saturday 26 June 1943 at 0.115am while on a mission to Gelsenkirchen in Germany at the age of 20. Following an attack by a night fighter, their Lancaster R5572-ZN-M crashed near the village of Baak. He and the rest of the crew were buried in Steenderen General Cemetery. One crew member managed to leave the aircraft and was taken prisoner of war.
