"During an attack on a battery position at Periers-sur-le-Dan by Z Coy 2/KSLI, L/C Horan was the leading Sec Comd of the left hand platoon. His platoon was pinned by heavy fire from an enemy post in the perimeter fire. L/C Horan of his own initative worked his way forward and succeeded in throwing grenades into the enemy position, killing two and enabling his platoon to get forward."
