The aircraft started on 18.37 hrs on March 24th from RAF Witchford. The aircraft was shot down at 00.20 hrs by Hauptmann Martin Drewes, III. Gruppe, Nachtjagdgeschwader 1 (17th Victory). The Lancaster crashed near Gorssel, the Netherlands. The Crew Members were Sergeant Robert Leslie Coulter (Air Gunner), Flying Officer Edward John Deemer (Air bomber), Sergeant Arthur Diggle (Flight Engineer), Flight Sergeant John Laurence Duffy (Navigator), Sergeant John Edwin Hammond (Wireless Operator), Sergeant Alexander John Hull (Air Gunner) en Pilot Officer Thomas Elliott Vipond (Pilot). All were killed in the crash and buried at Gorssel.
