“The name of this brave officer was known to all soldiers of the Regiment as the epitome of high military virtue. His bold action opened up the way to the heights of Mont du Cygne for the whole Regiment, and in the subsequent fighting he stormed several villages on the 16-17.06.1940. During the assault on Badonvillers the life of this heroic Dresdener was brought to an end by a headshot.”
