    Biography

    Aloysius H. Schmitt served as a Chaplain with the U.S. Navy on board the U.S.S. Oklahoma. On December 7th, 1941 he was killed while helping others to escape the sinking ship at Pearl Harbor. His remains were never identified and his name has been added to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
