Biography

Marian Belc entered service with the 5th Polish Air Regiment in 1937 and was placed with No. 152 Fighter Squadron in 1939. During the invasion of Poland in september 1939 het shot down a Messerschmitt Bf 110 on September 3rd. When Soviet forces invader Eastern Poland he was evacuated with his unit to Romania and escaped to France. In France he was placed with the I/55 Groupe de Chasse et de Defense and fled after the Ferman invasion to Great Britain. Here he was placed with the Polish No. 303 Squadron. On September 26th, 1940 he shot down his second enemy plane. Marian Belc was credited for shooting down seven enemy planes in total.
Marian Belc was killed on August 27th, 1942 when he crashed with Miles Maste III, W8664 during a training flight from Grangemouth, Scotland. In the crash also Flight Lieutenant Maurice Henry Holder was killed.
