Recommendation:
"This officer has almost completed his 2nd. tour of operations and has been a Flight Commander in the Squadron since September 1944. At all times he has set a fine example by his courage and cheerfulness. He has often led highly satisfactory attacks on enemy positions, sometimes less than 300 yards from our own troops. On one occasion he completely destroyed a mortar position, and on another, obtained a direct hit on a Tiger tank. A further notable success was the total destruction of enemy barracks in the San Felice area. Many of his bombing and strafing attacks have been made in the face of intense ground fire and have produced messages of congratulation from our troops. In recognition of outstanding service over a long period I strongly recommend an award."
