Citation:
"This officer has been engaged on operational flying since September, 1939. During May, 1940, whilst serving with a fighter squadron in France, he destroyed three enemy aircraft. Since being posted to his present unit he has led squadrons in 15 sweeps over France. He has displayed courage and devotion to duty and rendered valuable assistance to allied wing commanders."
