Biography

During two operational sails (68 days at sea), Borcherdt sunk a total of five enemy ships with a combined tonnage of 23.389 BRT. He was killed on March 25th, 1942 when his ship, "U 587" was sunk at 47.21N / 21.39W by H.M.S. Aldenham from Convoy AHL42.
