Biography

On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Private First Class Sawyer jumped into Normandy and was initially reported as Missing In Action. It was subsequently determined that he had been wounded and captured. He spent the remainder of the war interned in Stalag IV-D, Torgau, Saxony, Germany.
