    Biography

    Naval Sub-Lieutenant David Alexander Hutchinson was placed with the RAF in June 1940. After training with No. 5 Operational Training Unit, he served with No. 74 Squadron. Later he was transferred to No. 804 Squadron in the Fleet Air Arm and finally with No. 802 Squadron. He was killed when HMS Avenger, on which he was transported from North Africa to England, was torpedoed by a German U-boat.
