Biography

Hendrikus Cornelis van der Borght served as Driver with the rank of Soldaat in 1e Sectie, 4e Compagnie, IIe Autobataljon (4-II-Auto Bat.). He was killed on May 12th, 1940 near Rhenen, when the cars of his section, near Rhenen Zoo, were hit by German Artillery fire. At first buried in a fieldgrave near Hotel Bergzicht, Prattenburg, Veenendaal. His remains were re-buried at the Grebbeberg on June 3rd, 1940.
