Biography

Gerard lived at Verlengde Frederikstraat 22 in Groningen and married Johanna Engelina Sap on 19 January 1918. Together they had 3 children. He was a member of the RVV and OD.
On 5 September 1944, the Dutch Internal Forces (BS) were founded because various resistance groups started working together. The three most important were the Order Service (OD), the National Organisation for Assistance to People in Hiding/National Resistance Groups (LO/LKP) and the Council of Resistance (RVV). Gerard died during the liberation of Groningen on 15 April 1945.
