Biography

His ship, "U 94" was sunk by "H.M.C.S. Oakville" on August 26th, 1941. At that moment he had sunk 15 ships with a total tonnage of 76.882BRT and damaged a ship of 8.022BRT during 7 operational sails (235 days at sea).
After his release as POW he worked as a dentist until he joined the Bundeswehr in 1956. He retired as Konteradmiral in 1977.
