Biography

In his personal log in his handwriting have # of flights & # of landings which on one flight was 6.
His log gives over 157 flights, over 850 hrs. in flight & 950 hrs. on his radio. He told my Mother that he made some flights into Shanghai where few flew in & those flights are not in his log. His brother told me that he also went into Shanghai.

  • - General Order #341 from 10th Air Force HQ dated 29 Aug 1945 - Discharge papers Just found his "original" discharge papers with medals he was given & location: DFC w/OLC & Air Medal w/3 OLC & 2 small Bronze stars that I think go with the Air Medal; as his daughter I just found his personal log with his flight #s & #s of landings; His serial # was 17061858; He was with C-B-I Theater out of Ledo, Assam, India as a Radio Operator; found a General Order #341 from 10th Air Force HQ dated 29 Aug 1945 where all of the Quadron are given the medals above.
