    Biography

    Lieutenant Commander of the 3rd Class Royal Navy

    Uni was a prisoner of war in Harima camp in Kobe. He escaped in July 1943, but was captured again and returned to the camp.
    It later emerged that Uni had been put to death by the Kempeitai, the feared Japanese secret police, on July 21, 1943.
    His urn can be found in the columbarium at the Menteng Pulo cemetery in Jakarta. Uni was posthumously awarded the War Remembrance Cross on June 8, 1950.
