Biography

In 1933 Richard Gorontzi was sent to the Napola (special Nazi-elite schools), where he ended the school Cum Laude in 1938. After having done Arbeitsdienst, in 1939 he was called to duty with the Infanterie-Regiment 43 in Insterburg. He had a career which was usual for his capacities: Fahnenjunker, Leutnant, Kompanieführer, Oberleutnant, Adjutant, Bataillonskommandeur. On 25th March 1943 he was severely injured in battle and finally died of his wounds on 21st October 1943 in Königsberg, where he was buried.
