Franciscus Gijsbertus Alexander Rijper was born on 12 January 1926 in Emmen. Frans was unmarried and worked as a volunteer at the land registry office in Amersfoort. There he came into contact with the illegal underground. His brother Klaas and Hendrik van Dijk followed Frans in his illegal activities and helped him to hide weapons. Who betrayed the family has never been known. Frans was arrested on 16 November 1944 and transferred to Camp Amersfoort. On 18 November 1944, he was executed by firing squad on the Leusderheide, along with his brother Klaas and Hendrik van Dijk.
