    Biography

On 29 September 1944, the resistance liquidated the Amersfoort lawyer and public prosecutor Joannes Frima on Schothorsterlaan in Hoogland. As reprisal for the death of the NSB member and landwacht Frima, Bunnik was executed the next morning at the same location together with the doctor Gerardus Cornelis van Hoften. Bunnik was not part of the resistance, but was known to be anti-German. It has been suggested that this may have been a mistake. The Dutch SS who took him from his home first went to his brother's house. He was a member of the resistance, but was not at home.
