Lived in Heemstede, Jozef Israëlsplein 10. Son of Frederik Johannes Hoogewooning (27 February 1882 Amsterdam) and Alida Plank (5 April 1891 Amsterdam). Unmarried. Mate/First Lieutenant for General Service, seconded to the Intelligence Bureau. Member resistance. He used the code names Piet Groeneveld, Lammert, Lammetje and Lambert. In the 'field' he called himself F.J. Smith. In London he was trained as a radio operator by the BI. On the night of December 30 to 31, 1944, he was dropped in the Zwammerdam area together with agent Karel Christiaan Mooiweer (1923-1971). He had to maintain contact between the Albrecht spy group and the BI in Eindhoven. He also brought money and communications equipment for the intelligence group. At the beginning of January 1945 he had set up his signal box in Utrecht. After investigating his radio station, he was arrested on February 22 or 27, 1945. He was imprisoned in Utrecht and the 'Oranjehotel' before he was shot at Woeste Hoeve in reprisal for the attack on SS-Befehlshaber Hanns Albin Johann Baptist Rauter on March 6, 1945. Hoogewooning was only found deceased when the mass grave was discovered on June 16, 1945.
