    Biography

    Lived in the Dutch East Indies. Son of Johannes van der Molen (hotel owner) and Alida Haverkorn. Partner of Johanna Cornelia Henriette Gerritdina te Roller, born 14 February 1900 Doesburg. Second mate/reserve captain KNIL/officer RAPWI (Recovering Allied Prisoners of War and Internees)/KDP (Office Displaced Persons).
    Van der Molen was murdered by extremists at Tjandjoer on 16 October 1945 as leader of a RAPWI transport.
    On 19 June 1948 he was reburied at the Dutch cemetery Pandu in Bandung.
