Recommendation:
For having distinguished himself by performing exceptionally courageous and tactful acts in combat against the enemy in the period between March 13 to August 9 after having taken part first on December 19, 1948 in the airdrop in Djokja and subsequently on December 27 in a similar action on Sumatra and after being appointed commander of Task Force Eric, having undertaken a number of very important actions against terrorist groups in western Java. It was due to his excellent leadership and intrepid, determined, unrelenting, exemplary and capable conduct that many prominent resistance fighters could be eliminated or taken prisoner and a considerable amount of weapons, ammuniton and documents confiscated, suffering two casualties once.
In particuler these excellent actions:
between April 8 and 11, 1949 near Kampong Leutjang, between April 21 and 23 near Kampongs Tjirabak and Kabujutan 2; between May 21 and 24 near Kampong Telesak 1, on May 27 near Kampong Tjitabar (or Tjatjabar), between June 10 and 17 near the Kampongs Mantjagar, Tjinjasakj and Tantilam and on August 9 near Kampong Tjilutung-Girang when he, as commander of a patrol during his search for the hide out of a notorious gang member in very difficult terrain suddenly came face to face with 20 well deployed and well armed members of the staff headquarters of said gang member. He conducted himself in an extremely tactful manner and at the right moment and after having thrown a hand grenade, went into the attack together with a platoon commander and two Indonesian soldiers, eliminating 18 gang members.

For having distinguished himself by courageous conduct in the face of the enemy during the years of occupation (1940 to 1945) in the KP (Knokploeg) in the Amersfoort district. He has frequently blown up railway tracks in the Gooi and near Amersfoort where the central signal office in the station blew up after the first attempt had failed an hour before. On the return from this sabotage raid he landed in a firefight with a German patrol which was driven off, leaving their dead and wounded behind.

For having distinguished himself in combat by eminent acts of courage, tact and loyalty by having displayed courageous conduct against the enemy, having blown numerous railway tracks in the Gooi and near Amersfoort during the years of German occupation (1940 – 1945) as a member of the KP (Knokploeg) in the Amersfoort district.
He has distinguished himself in particular in the period from March 13 and August 9 1949 in numerous actions against terrorist gangs by eminent deeds of courage, tact and loyalty. Based on his previous qualities of leadership, displayed during his underground resistance in the Netherlands and during the air landing actions near Djokja and on Sumatra in 1948, Lieutenant Ulrici was appointed commander of the task group Eric – his pseudonym in the resistance – in early 1949 by the former Territorial and Military commander of West-Java.
It was due to his eminent leadership, resolve and intrepid endurance during these months long and relentless actions against terrorist gangs in the Pasudanse region that many prominent resistance fighters could be eliminated or taken prisoner and a considerable amount of weapons, ammuniton and documents confiscated, suffering two casualties only once.
