For having distinguished himself in connection with hostile activity by courageous and tactful conduct, serving the interests of the Kingdom as a member of an underground organisation in the Zaan area during the years of occupation. He received sizable amounts of weapoons at drop zones in Noord-Holland; he managed to transport and distribute these in a judicious and daring manner for the benefit of the resistance; he gave instructions as to how to use the weapons.
