“The Knight’s Cross for Friedrich von Homeyer:

The Führer has awarded the Knight’s Cross to Rittmeister Friedrich von Homeyer, commander of an independent reconnaissance group, and who recently died in North Africa.

Rittmeister Friedrich von Homeyer had a major share in the successful combat around Tobruk. His flexible and determined leadership tied down strong enemy forces that threatened to break the encirclement ring around Tobruk. His personal bravery and aggressiveness likewise inspired his men to achieve great successes. He died in battle during the combat around Tobruk.”
