Sergei Bunyachenko was a Soviet Colonel who was captured by the Romanian Army in 1942. He sided with the Germans in 1943 and received a leading role in the Russian Liberation Army (ROA). He defected to the Czech resistance in May 1945 and was arrested by the Red Army shortly after. Bunyachenko was hanged in Moscow for high treason.
