Biography

Lieutenant-General (1940). Commander of the III Finish Corps, which fought between 1941 and 1944 against the Red Army. In 1944, Finland broke all diplomatic contact with nazi Germany and Hjalmar Siilasvuo became commander of Army Group Lapland, which fought in the Lapland War (1944-1945). Siilasvuo died on 11 January 1947 at the age of 54.
