"Major Małaszkiewicz joined the Brigade in 1942, for over a year during 1943/44 he held the appointment of Chief of Staff to the Brigade. During this period he was responsible in great degree for the smooth running and organization of Staff Duties within the Brigade. His contacts with British personnel were always most cordial and he never failed to work whole heartedly for full co-operation between units of the Polish Brigade and those of 1st British Airborne Division. Early this year Major Małaszkiewicz took over command of the Polish Parachute Brigade Training Depot, and has worked most successfully, conscientiously and energetically to organize the training of recruits for all units of the Brigade. He took part in the Arnhem Operation as Brigade Chief of Staff".
