Robert William Paterson Abel was the son of Robert William Abel and Ann Ellen Abel.
He was a member of 1st Battalion, Welsh Guards. He was killed in action on September 23rd, 1944, near the dyke, close to parcel C69 of P. Gorzeman, near the community of Doornik, during the liberation of Bemmel, the Netherlands.
