"This officer raised and trained the Ethiopian Army Signals in the Sudan and has been the only officer with that unit ever since. Since this arrival at ADDIS ABABA he has further trained a large number of Ethiopian Wireless Operators.

The Ethiopian wireless detachment under him did invaluable service when the Emperor returned to Ethiopia and contributed much to the success of the Ethiopian troops in the march on ADDIS ABABA.

During the GONDAR operations 44% of the wireless operators were Ethiopians trained by Maj. GREY and he himself, I know, rendered invaluable service directing them. He is an indefatigable worker and his success in training Ethiopians in the most difficult branch of the service has been outstanding."
