    Biography

    Robert Hogg joined the RAF in September 1938 as a boy entrant as wireless operator/potential air gunner. He joined 12 squadron, which was part of the AAF at the age of 18, in April 1940, Flying Fairey Battles.
    After the fall of France and evacuation from Dunkirk he was posted to 144 Squadron, flying Hampdens. He flew 32 ops with his crew.
    Subsequently he was posted to 49 Squadron at RAF Scampton, starting a next tour on 2/3 May 1942 in AVRO Manchesters.
    After being awarded the CGM he joined 62 Squadron, flying Dakotas.
    He stayed with the squadron until March 1948.
