Citation:
"On the 27 April, 1943, Guardsman Chisholm was in "B"Company, 1st Bn., Scots Guards and took part in the attack on Dj Bou Area. The Company, under the command of the late Captain the Lord Lyell, V.C., was held up in the foothills by heavy fire from an enemy post on the left, consisting of an 88 mm. gun and a heavy machine-gun. His Company Commander, calling on everyone of the Company not pinned by fire to follow him, led an attack on this post.
Guardsman Chisholm immediately followed, accompanied by three other Guardsmen.
This gallant little band silenced the post, though manned by vastly superiord numbers.

Guardsman Chisholm was wounded but continued to fire to help his Company Commander.

His gallant bearing and courage were conspicuous throughout the battle."
