Biography

Leutnant Joachim von Stechow died in a crash on 1 January 1945, during Unternehmen Bodenplatte between Sleeuwijk and Werkendam, the Netherlands. He probably was shot down by his German air defences. He served as wingman for Heinrich Wiese on that day and flew with Messerschmitt Me109 K-4, 'Red 5', factory number 331 401.
