Karl-Heinz Rosch served as Kanonier. On October 6th, 1944 he was stationed with his platoon near a farm in Goirle, the Netherlands. When his unit was attacked by Allied troops, Rosch notices the two chidlren from the ramer playing at the courtyard and took them to safety in the farms basement. When he came out again he was hit by an enemy granade and was instantly killed.
