"His company was one of the first to cross the Dnieper and went into battle on 30 September 1943. Particularly threatening was the situation on the right flank. A group of fascist submachine gunners rushed to the company. Khasanshin, setting mortars in the funnels, immediately opened fire on the enemy from all mortars and repulsed the attack. So it was repeated twice.
In the afternoon, the enemy, having received reinforcements, again went on the offensive. The mortar men had only a half dozen mortar rounds left. Khasanshin decided to distribute mortar rounds between two mortar teams, and ordered the rest of the soldiers to prepare for the attack. IThe commander led his soldiers into the flank of the enemy. Our fighters rushed to attack, surprising the enemy, and forcing them to retreat. During repelling numerous counterattacks of the enemy on the seized bridgehead on October 2, 1943, the mortar men engaged three times in melee combat. Lieutenant Hassanshin's guard company repelled twenty-three attacks over a period of three days."
