"July 1942 when returning from attack Dusseldorf, aircraft attacked by three enemy fighters, but by skilful evasive tactics brought aircraft back base undamaged. Again September despite intense anti-aircraft fire flew over target area 25 minutes ensure correct aiming point. Throughout operational career has shown great determination fine qualities leadership which have been excellent example to all."
