Biography

He was the youngest son of Thomas Dow and Mary Jane Dow. Roy Dow attended Queen''s University in Kingston, Ontario, after completing his studies he decided to visit the British Isles in 1938. Soon after he joined the RAF, training as a pilot. He met and married his English wife Peggy Scott in 1939. They met two days before Britain declared war and married Nov. 9, 1939. Roy flew the entire war until he was shot down over Berlin April 4, 1945. The Russians recovered his body, releasing it to the British Nov. 1945. Peggy never remarried. The family kept in touch with her until her death in 2002.
