As British head of a section of the Special Force Headquarters in London, England, from December 1943 to September 1944, Colonel Buckmaster, through his executive ability, initiative and broad practical experience contributed largely to the successful infiltraton of secret agents into enemy occupied France. He played an important part in organizing and directing the activities of French Forces of the Interior in the conduct of sabotage operations and guerilla warfare against the enemy."
