"As Brigade Major of 2 Carpathian Brigade during the battles for the Rivers Senio & Santerno in which troops 2 Carpathian Brigade carried out the Divisions main effort. Major Hanus skilfully co-ordinated the operations of the British arms under his command (6R.Yorks, a Crocodile Squadron (arms and flails). Thanks to the rapid and distribution of orders to British units under his command there were no misunderstandings on the battlefield, as a result of which the speed of the operations inflicted such casualties on the enemy that it caused the enemy defence along the Senio & Santerno Rivers to break down. By his work he contributed so much that the co-operation of all arms reached such a level that it enabled this success to be achieved by 2 Carpathian Brigade, as a part of 3 Carpathian Division."
