Rank:
Squadron Leader
Unit:
RAF Station Sutton-on-Hull, RAF Technical Training Command, HQ, Royal Air Force

January 1st, 1946
"Squadron Leader Brooker was appointed to command the Fire School at Weeton during 1941, since which time the function of the Unit has developed from a Royal Air Force Fireman’s course into an instructional Fire Fighting School. Officers and junior NCO courses have been introduced and the peak intake has risen to 250. Squadron Leader Brooker’s work with this unit has been most commendable. He has raised the standard of instruction to such an extent that it has been recognised not only by the Royal Air Force but also by the National Fire Services as providing some of the best training available in fire fighting. At all times he has set an excellent example to his officers, staff and pupils and his cooperation with other Services and civilian departments has been admirable. Much of his work has been with American personnel and in this connection, by his fine personal qualities, he has engendered an excellent state of mutual cooperation and liaison between the British and American personnel."
Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE)
