On 5 August, 1941 Roy Langlois crashlanded Wellington II, W5421 PHG on Deurne Airport after experiencing engine problems. Intially he evaced capture but was taken prisoner of war in Brussels.
Langlois was sent out to Stalag Luft III and participated in th Great Escape and was No 87 out of the tunnel. He was recaptured soon thus avoiding being executed by the Gestapo.
