Citation:
"This officer was landed by sea on the French Mediterranean coast in March 192 as organiser of a circuit in the Toulouse area.
Within two months he had established himself on a sure and satisfactory basis, and had formed several sabotage cells in factories and amongst railway workers. From June 1942 onwards a number of parachute receptions were organised. Sabotage operations personally led by PERTSCHUK were carried out aganst tele-communications on October 1942 and January 194, and against an explosive factory at Bergerac in April 1943.
Lieut. PERTSCHUK was arrested on 13 April 1943 after having worked for over a year in clandestine activity. He had set up an efficient and resolute circuit which was subsequently able to extend its activities and to render invaluable services on and after D-Day.
It is recommended that he be appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (Military Division).
Since this citation was prepared it has become known that Lt. PERTSCHUK was executed at BUCHENWALD in March 1945."
