Biography

Edward George "Ted" Wicky was based at RAF Thorney Island during The Second World War. In the early hours of Sunday 4th February 1945 he was returning from a raid in mainland Europe, with Pilot Officer/Navigator Oswald "Billy" Mountford. While attempting to land in poor weather conditions at RAF Thorney Island, the De Havilland Mosquito crashed in the village of Horndean, Hampshire. Both airmen were killed.

Son of Edouard Jean Wicky and Rita Wicky, of Cremorne, New South Wales, Australia.
