Biography

Pierre Bernheim was chief of the military intelligence service (SRM) of the National Liberation Movement (MLN) in January 1944.
Trapped by the Gestapo, he was arrested in Lyon in August 1944, a few days before the liberation of the town.
Questioned by the Gestapo, he remained silent and was executed on the Bron Airfield the 20 August 1944.
His spouse Germaine was arrested on th same time and burnt alive in Saint-Genis-Laval the same day as his husband.
the brother of Pierre, André Bernheim died in a death camp in Sobibor in March 1943, his brother Charles Bernheim was executed in 1943 and another brother Jean Bernheim deceased in January 1946 from mistreatment received during his captivity in Germany.
