Citation:
"Major Kristian GLEDITSCH was designated by the Norwegian High Command as one of the two Security Liaison Officers to be attached to the Allied Force Headquarters in NORWAY in the event of Operations there as planned by HQ Scottish Command and subsequently HQ FORCE 134. In that capacity he visited these headquarters for several periods and gave great assistance in the forming of the Security plan for these operations, as well as supervising the training of the Security Liaison Officers detailed to operate in the several zones.
After the capitulation of GERMANY, shortly after his arrival in NORWAY, Major GLEDITSCH developed a plan for the use of Norwegian officers in carrying out the security screening of the German Forces being repatriated, when neither British nor USA personnel could be made available for these duties. The responsability for the selection and training of these officers was supervised by him and, when they became operational, he maintained liaison with and advised on the work of the various detachments throughout NORWAY. Their success was verey largely due to his continuous interest in and careful supervision of their operation."
