"At EL GUBI on 19 Nov 41, whilst in the middle of the enemy position, he dismounted from his own tank under intense enemy fire to fasten tow ropes on to a disabled tank, which he succeeded in towing out of action, returning hmself to the action. Throughout all operations extending from 19 to 29 Nov 41 his complete disregard of danger has been an inspiration to all ranks."
